Mindful Mondays in Monroe Park: The Body's Rhythm
Monday, Jun. 17, 2019 from noon to 12:25 p.m.
Join VCU's Wellness Resource Center every Monday at noon for a brief guided mindfulness exercise. The focus this week is on the body's natural rhythm. Meet at the fountain in Monroe Park with a blanket or yoga mat. Rain location (or if the ground is wet) is at The Well, 815 South Cathedral Place.

Wright Center Consulting Hours

Mindfulness at the ICA

World War II Community Celebration

The Lifelong Learning Institute in Chesterfield County, sponsored in part by VCU’s Virginia Center on Aging, will host a World War II community celebration. Meet World War II veterans, hear from historians, view artifacts and take the World War I and World War II Commemoration Commission’s mobile tour. Maureen Olmsted, Ph.D., Wright Center research navigator, will review the definition of a clinical trial and discuss ClinicalTrials.gov registration requirements. The lunch research seminar, presented by VCU's C. Bioinformatics 102: Introduction to Genomic Databases
Monday, Jun. 24, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
VCU Libraries and Wright Center Bioinformatics will host a five-day series of workshops focusing on popular genomic databases. The event will be held the week of June 24th at the Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, 509 N. 12th St. The workshop is about the types of data stored in genomics databases and how to access and navigate them. New this year is an additional workshop on the analysis of microbiome genomics data in R. Register at the following URL.

Campus Connector To Discontinue Service July 1; GRTC Partnership Extended
VCU has signed a three-year paid agreement with GRTC to fund unlimited transportation access on Pulse Bus Rapid Transit, local and express routes for all VCU, VCU Health System and Virginia Premier students and employees effective Aug. 1. In an effort to eliminate redundant services and contribute to the cost of the new partnership, VCU will eliminate the Campus Connector route, effective July 1. To travel between campuses, passengers can use Pulse, Route 5.
