Mindfulness Meditation at the ICA

Mindfulness meditation is a practice to bring attention and awareness into the present moment. This summer, the 30-minute guided meditation led by BareSOUL Yoga moves into the top-floor gallery of the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St.

ICA Provocations Performance: Cora Harvey Armstrong
Friday, Jul. 5, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Dubbed the “The Queen of Virginia Gospel Music,” singer and pianist Cora Harvey Armstrong has been delighting audiences for more than 40 years. Her return appearance at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., will feature a selection of gospel classics inspired by Rashid Johnson’s “Monument.” She will also give performances at 7 p.m. July 5 and 3 p.m. July 6.

Chair Yoga at the Monroe Park Campus

Chair yoga can provide a calm and relaxed feeling which leads to a greater sensation of happiness and well-being. Fourth of July Schedule for VCU Rec Sports
VCU Recreational Sports facilities will operate on an abbreviated schedule on Independence Day. Both the Cary Street Gym and the MCV Campus Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. on July 4. Visit the following URL for a full list of hours.

Campus Connector To Discontinue Service July 1; GRTC Partnership Extended
VCU has signed a three-year paid agreement with GRTC to fund unlimited transportation access on Pulse Bus Rapid Transit, local and express routes for all VCU, VCU Health System and Virginia Premier students and employees effective Aug. 1. In an effort to eliminate redundant services and contribute to the cost of the new partnership, VCU will eliminate the Campus Connector route, effective July 1. To travel between campuses, passengers can use Pulse, Route 5.

OCPE Personal and Professional Development Programs
VCU's Office of Continuing and Professional Education offers a variety of in-classroom and online learning opportunities for VCU faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members. Continuing education is available in craft beer, cultural competency and languages, disability support services, engineering, event planning, mindfulness, paralegal studies, play therapy and test prep for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, ACT, Praxis Core and MCAT. Foundations of Biochemistry is also offered.
