VCU to Test All Alert Emergency Communications

VCU will conduct a full test of its emergency communications and alerting systems, including sirens on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses and at VCU Police headquarters, at noon on Sept. 4. The full test will include the sirens along with text messages, Alertus boxes, mass email, digital signs, desktop alerts, LiveSafe, social media and VCU website information — all part of a multichannel system for communicating emergency information to VCU students, faculty, staff, visitors and the community. VCU Police will send out text messages to VCU Alert subscribers prior to, and during testing, and once testing has concluded.

MCV Campus Construction: Traffic Impact Updates

Construction and related utility work at and around the VCU Health Outpatient Facility and Inpatient Children’s Hospital sites will affect traffic patterns on the MCV Campus for several months. VCU’s Innovation Challenges invites students to submit their most creative and innovative solutions relating to health care, higher education and poverty. Students of all levels are encouraged to submit their ideas from Sept. 3 to Oct. 6.
