Applications Being Accepted for Faculty Peer Mentoring Program

Applications for the 2019-20 Faculty Peer Mentoring Program cohort are due by 5 p.m. on Sept. 16. The program is a cross-disciplinary, one-to-one faculty mentoring program sponsored and coordinated by VCU's Office of the Provost. The program provides a formal opportunity for early career tenure-line faculty members to receive advice and guidance from a tenured faculty member from outside their own department. Rec Sports' OAP Hosts Teambuilding Program

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program's teambuilding and leadership program is dedicated to further developing VCU groups and teams. From an hour of meet-and-greet to a full day on the challenge course, OAP offers custom programs. In August OAP will have served more than 1,200 students, faculty/staff and community partners. September and October programs are now being booked.

Virtual Immersive Gaming to Optimize Recovery in Low Back Pain

Are you currently experiencing low back pain, between the ages of 18-60 years old and interested in the possibility of nine weeks of nonsurgical experimental treatment? If you answered yes to all three you may qualify for our research. What? New, innovative and fun virtual reality games are designed to help people with chronic back pain move and feel better. Where? All appointments, testing and treatments are conducted at VCU. When? Participation in the study involves 24 one-hour appointments scheduled over a 57-week period. Who? Research on Twins Underway at VCU

VCU is home to the largest twin registry in the country, the Mid-Atlantic Twin Registry (MATR). For over 40 years the MATR has facilitated twin-based health and behavior research so that scientists can begin to unravel the environmental and genetic factors involved in human health and behavior. They are poised to fulfill subject recruitment and data collection needs for researchers of any discipline.
