VCU's Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences invites all new and returning students for a visit and tour. Learn about VCU Libraries' resources and services available online and at Tompkins-McCaw, 509 N. 12th St. Take part in a scavenger hunt to uncover collaborative spaces. Meet the staff, see demos of library databases, learn about 3D and poster printing, see new equipment and explore possibilities to create in the library's new makerspace.

Paloma McGregor/Urban Bush Women Choreographic Fellow Showing

VCUarts Dance will host an in-process showing of work by guest artist Paloma McGregor in a research residency as part of the Urban Bush Women Choreographic Fellowship Program. The free event will be held at The Anderson, 907 ½ W. Franklin St. McGregor is a Caribbean-born, New York-based choreographer whose work centers black voices through collaborative, process-based art-making and organizing. The work will also be shown at the same site at 7 p.m. Oct. 4.

Ground Down Rise Up Event for Veterans

Veteran or veteran ally? Military experiences may leave a lasting impact. VCU's Student Veterans Association, Military Student Services and Wounded Warrior Project will present Ground Down Rise Up in the Lecture Hall, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. Engage VCU and RVA-area integrative wellness resources who team with you to manage stress, altered mobility and other long-term considerations. RVA-area veterans and veteran allies are welcome. Be dressed ready to move. Dinner will be provided at this free event. ADA accessible, and service animals are welcome. Office of the Provost's Faculty Fellows Program Accepting Applications
VCU's Office of the Provost invites faculty members to apply to serve in a part-time, administrative role in faculty affairs. Smoke- and Tobacco-Free Campus Policy In Effect
All tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, are prohibited on VCU property. The directive includes buildings and vehicles, except for outdoor areas specifically designated with a sign for smoking and other tobacco use. The new policy applies to students, faculty, staff, contractors and campus visitors.
