VCU BEST: Mindfulness for the Stressed Scientist
3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Developing scientists at VCU are managing multiple priorities in the lab, classroom and personal life. At times, the stress can seem overwhelming and difficult to balance. Mindfulness is the practice of being present and being aware of what is happening in the moment. Learn, with VCU Career Services, how to develop habits to practice mindfulness and learn to center yourself when things seem to be spiraling. Intimate Partner Violence Case Study To Be Presented
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Confidential Advocates with the Sexual, Intimate Partner Violence, Stalking and Harassment Services through University Counseling will host an in-depth multidisciplinary case study. The intimate partner violence case will be presented by a retired Henrico County detective who worked the case in its entirety and the survivor. The case study will include sensitive information. Nerf Club Match Open to Undergrads
Saturday, Sep. 28, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Nerf Club at VCU will host its first match open, which will be open to all VCU undergrads. Game modes include Capture the Flag, a version of Mafia, and Infection. Signups are mandatory, and catering, blasters and darts will be provided for the first 30 people to sign up. Remaining spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will be in the Multi-Activity Complex, Cary Street Gym, 101 S. Linden St.

Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education Session Set

REVIVE! is the Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Currently REVIVE! provides training on recognizing and responding to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of naloxone. Training is open to VCU community members including faculty, staff and students. Training is limited to 25 persons per session. The session will be at the VCU School of Nursing, 1100 E.
