Film Screening of 'The Bleeding Edge'

VCU Libraries and University Student Commons and Activities invite the VCU community to bring their lunch to a free film screening and discussion of “The Bleeding Edge.” The film looks at the unforeseen consequences of advanced technological devices used in the medical field. It will be shown in Room 2010, Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences Lecture Room, 509 N. 12th St. The screening will be followed by a brief discussion facilitated by Nyssa Towsley, IRB Analyst at VCU. 2019 Burnside Watstein LGBTQIA+ Awards Ceremony

The 14th Annual LGBTQIA+ Burnside Watstein Award Ceremony will be held in the Lecture Hall, Room 303, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. Marsha Rappley, M.D., VCU Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and VCU Health System Chief Executive Officer, will give a keynote address about LGBTQIA+ inclusion in medical care.

Episcopal Campus Ministry at VCU is collecting holy books in a partnership with Grace Inside Chaplains to give prisoners access to scripture. Caps, Gowns and Hoods for December Commencement
December commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia should be purchased at the Barnes and Noble @ VCU on your respective campus. Regalia will be available for sale through Dec. 13 on the MCV and Monroe Park campuses. VCU ASPiRE To Host Donation Drive at Common Book Event
VCU ASPiRE, in collaboration with the Common Book Program, is hosting a donation drive to support the REAL LIFE Program and RVA Street Singers. Those who attend the Common Book Author Talk at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Siegel Center can bring a new toiletry item (toothpaste, soap, toothbrushes, feminine products) or new or gently used warm weather item (hats, gloves, scarves, socks) to the event.
