Professional Development for Artists: Strategic Planning
Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
How do you visualize the course of your future as an artist or creative? How can you use your skills to support your practice? How do you price your work, your time and your abilities? This seminar, at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., will help you get where you want to be by encouraging you to set personal goals, take inventory of your skills and view money as less of a reward and more of a tool.

Return of the Ancestral Remains
Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
VCU will host a ceremony to acknowledge and welcome the ancestral remains discovered in the East Marshall Street Well. The event begins in the lobby of the McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St. The event will proceed to the auditorium of the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building, 1217 E. Marshall St., for a brief program of acknowledgement and recognition.

Study Breaks at Hunton Student Center
Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Graduate and Professional Student Programming Board and the Hub will host study breaks at the Hunton Student Center, 1110 E. Broad St. On Dec. 9, licensed therapy dogs and hot drinks will be available. On Dec. 10, at the same time and location, massage chairs and light bites will be provided.

Health Behavior and Policy Seminar at One Capitol Square
Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 from noon to 1 p.m.
Elizabeth Do, Ph.D., MPH, Instructor, VCU School of Medicine's Health Behavior and Policy, will discuss "The Adolescents, Place, Behavior Study: Preliminary Findings, Possible Challenges and Future Directions.” The lecture will be in Room 644, Capitol Square, 830 E. Main St. A light lunch will be provided.

Tompkins-McCaw Library To Be Closed Nov. 23
Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences will be closed Nov. 23 due to facilities work in the area that will leave the library without heat or hot water for the day. The library, at 509 N. 12th St., will reopen Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for its Thanksgiving Week schedule.

Feedback Sought on Strategic Research Priorities
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation seeks feedback on its drafted strategic research priorities plan. Your input will guide finalization of the document. An implementation plan will then be developed to allow VCU to make strategic investments of time and resources to achieve the goals set forth in the strategic research priorities plan.
