This idea of social class and how it opens doors or keeps us out will be the topic for the February monthly forum hosted by the Division for Inclusive Excellence. RAMmalogues provides a braver/safer space for all students to talk with each other about their social identities and lived experiences at VCU. The goal is to increase students’ understanding of issues related to acceptance, belonging and inclusion around campus and to provide tools for talking about difference. Dialogues encompassing race, gender, class and similar themes are led by trained facilitators provided by Kimbrough Consulting and Richmond Action Dialogues. 2020-2021 FAFSA Verification Process

VCU has partnered with Verification Gateway from Inceptia to expedite the federal verification process. Students whose FAFSA applications are selected for verification will be contacted by Inceptia. Study Abroad Opportunity in Shimane, Japan

The Global Education Office and VCU Globe offer the opportunity to learn about intercultural communication in Japan July 7-28, visit museums and sites of cultural and historic importance there and study alongside students at Shimane University. Students will participate in social and academic activities at Shimane University and earn three credits for GLED 391. Apply at the following URL by March 2.

Pedestrian Detour Around Franklin Street Gym

The STEM Building project has begun at the site of the Franklin Street Gym. Fencing will be installed in stages. The first stage will be the alley behind the building. The fencing will extend from Johnson Hall to Shafer Court Dining Center and Ritter-Hickok. The final stage of the fencing will block the sidewalk in front of the building. Pedestrians will not be able to walk down the alley from Shafer Street or between Ritter-Hickok and the Gym.
