Adulting 101: Understanding Your Student Loans

Will I be able to qualify for loan forgiveness? What should I pay first, my private or public loans? Should I consolidate my loans? What does that even mean? TRIO Student Support Services, the Money Spot at VCU and the Virginia Credit Union present Money Mondays. This workshop focuses on the various types of loans, where and how to get information about your loans and different loan repayment strategies to reduce you costs over time. BFA Senior Capstone: Round One Exhibition and Reception

The VCUarts BFA Senior Capstone exhibitions will be shown at The Anderson, 907 1/2 W. Franklin St. Round One consists of artworks by seniors in the Craft/Material Studies and Sculpture + Extended Media departments and will be on view March 2-6 with a reception on March 6 from 6-9 p.m. Round Two, March 19-21, will feature artworks by seniors in the Kinetic Imaging, Painting + Printmaking, and Photo + Film departments. VCU Libraries To Host Webcast About Potential Changes in Research Publishing

On Feb. 19, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy opened a new request for information (RFI) on public access to the results of federally funded research. This has the potential to influence policies and practices for funded researchers throughout VCU. The university community is invited to join the webcast, to be streamed in Room 321, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave., and the first-floor conference room, Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, 509 N. 12th St., to walk through the RFI.

Biomedical Engineering Seminar

'Not On My Résumé: Struggles, Failures, Detours And Doubts' With Carrie Peterson

Levi Van Sant: Conserving Plantation Geographies

Levi Van Sant, Ph.D., George Mason University, will give a presentation on his current project, "Conserving Plantation Geographies: Environmental Ethics and Racial Capitalism in the U.S. South." The talk will analyze conservation easements in the South and highlight the ways regional environmental governance rearticulates political ecologies of the plantation past. PLAY Research Program
The Play and Learning Across a Year Research Program in VCU’s Physical Therapy Department is seeking to recruit children. Participation in the study would include recording a one-hour session of in-home observation of the infant moving, playing and interacting with their environment, followed by questionnaires to better understand the child’s development. Parents will be provided a $50 compensation at the end of the visit. To be eligible to participate, the child must be 12, 18 or 24 months (plus or minus one week).
