2020 Virtual PACME Celebration

President Michael Rao, Vice President Aashir Nasim and the Office of Institutional Equity, Effectiveness and Success invite the VCU and VCU Health System community to the virtual ceremony for the 2020 Presidential Awards for Community Multicultural Enrichment. This virtual event is accessible through the PACME web page at the following URL. This year’s PACME recipients are Tegwyn H. Brickhouse, D.D.S., Ph.D. (Academic and Administrative Leadership); Mariam F. Alkazemi, Ph.D. (Faculty); Stevara Clark, M.S.W. (Faculty); Henry W. Lewis III, M.A. (Staff) and Calvin J. Hall III (Student), who will be honored for their contributions to promoting civility, building community, establishing cross-cultural initiatives and nurturing an environment of inclusive excellence. Digital Media Strategies for the COVID-19 Crisis

In partnership with VCU's Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture, "Digital Media Strategies for the COVID-19 Crisis" will be offered again in an online, self-paced format with Jeanine Guidry, Ph.D. The course will explore digital media strategies relating to COVID-19 and develop digital content for nonprofit messaging and campaigns. The course is open to VCU students and VCU and VCU Health employees for credit and to the community as noncredit. Eligible employees may use their tuition benefit/education assistance. Noncredit revenue will be split between funding coronavirus-related research by the Media+Health Lab and assisting with student needs. Register at the following URL by 11:59 p.m. May 19.

Solutions Journalism: Reporting During COVID-19 and Beyond

VCU Updates Safety and Protection of Minors Policy

Master in Product Innovation Fall Application Deadline
Students in the da Vinci Center's Master of Product Innovation program learn advanced product innovation and entrepreneurship topics relating to conceptualization, development and commercialization of new products and services. Unique instruction and team-based learning by experience integrate the principles of arts, business and engineering. Research Data Librarian Hosts Drop-In Data Discussions on Wednesdays
VCU Libraries' data management expert hosts open sessions from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesdays through May 6. This unstructured data discussion enables participants to ask questions, share expertise and build a discussion around data interests. If you're learning about data or experiencing frustrations, then come look for support and ideas from the community. Special Topics Class: Audio Storytelling
Audio Storytelling, a new Humanities and Sciences elective class for fall 2020, will be taught through the VCU Student Media Center. The 300-level class is open to any undergraduate student in any major; no prerequisites or previous experience are required. The special topics class — HUMS 391, section 903 — will be held 4-6:40 p.m. on Thursdays in the fall semester at the Student Media Center, 817 W. Broad St.

RVA Relief Runners Virtual 5K for The Holli Fund
