Virtual Taiko (Japanese Drumming)
Friday, May 29, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Join VCU Globe, a co-founder of Heian Daiko, members of River City Taiko and Lifelong Learning Institute members for a virtual introduction to Japanese drumming and an opportunity for intergenerational connections. Participants will learn about traditions associated with taiko and collaborate in a gentle rhythmic workout that can be done at home. All you need to participate are your hands and cushions. Stretch to Release Tension, Prevent Injury, Increase Flexibility
Monday, Jun. 8, 2020 from noon to 12:30 p.m.
VCU Human Resources and Recreational Sports will host a slower 30-minute virtual practice focused on stretching muscles and opening connective tissue. The intent is to release tension, prevent injury, increase blood flow to muscles and increase long-term flexibility. Participants are encouraged to have a yoga strap or dish/hand towel for the class. Canvas Intro and Q&A Sessions

Canvas Intro and Q&A sessions, hosted by VCU Learning Systems in Academic Technologies, are being offered throughout the summer. The online sessions will provide an overview on getting started with Canvas, followed by Q&A. Canvas, a Learning Management System born in the cloud, streamlines digital tools and content used in teaching for a simpler, more connected learning experience.
