Structuring Writing for a Specific Audience

It can be frustrating to put so much work into a paper, only to be told it doesn’t flow or make sense. Alternately, if you’re not sure how to go about it, you may put off writing until the last minute, which can result in a rushed effort. This interactive Zoom workshop, hosted by VCU Writing Center, will supply the tools necessary to meet the needs of the intended audience by writing strong, logical, structurally sound work. VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs presents "Life Outside of the Binary: College and Beyond," facilitated by Dae Newman. This discussion group is for students who identify as LGBTQIA+. Introduction to Perusall as a Way to Encourage Student Interaction and Collaboration
Thursday, Jul. 9, 2020 from 11 a.m. to noon
A workshop hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence and facilitated by Ellen Carpenter from the Department of Psychology will introduce Perusall. The free platform allows students to annotate and ask or answer questions related to either documents posted by their instructor or their textbook. Its goal is to move reading from a solitary to a collective experience. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the platform from the perspective of the students. VCU Parking and Transportation Customer Service Offices To Reopen July 1
Beginning July 1, VCU Parking and Transportation's customer service offices will reopen with adjusted hours. The MCV Campus office will open from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The Monroe Park Campus office will open from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m and 1:30-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Cleaning will take place between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. daily.
