Women of Color Discussion Group: The Complexities of Complexion

Did you know that you could be denied access to education and jobs due to the color of your skin? The Brown Paper Bag Test was a tool that was seriously used to establish hierarchy in communities of color. Jenaé Harrington breaks down the complexities of complexion and desirability in a discussion hosted by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.

It can be frustrating to put so much work into a paper, only to be told it doesn’t flow or make sense. Alternately, if you’re not sure how to go about it, you may put off writing until the last minute, which can result in a rushed effort. This interactive Zoom workshop, hosted by VCU Writing Center, will supply the tools necessary to meet the needs of the intended audience by writing strong, logical, structurally sound work. Coaching for Leaders and Managers
Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to noon
The Center for Corporate Education presents the Coaching for Leaders and Managers program online for Fall 2020. This course is geared for managers, supervisors and leaders who want to strengthen their skills and empower their staff. This class will run on two half-day mornings, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26.

Earn a technology specialization through the College of Engineering. Fundamentals of Computing is open to non-computer science majors/minors, VCU and VCU Health employees and students not seeking degrees.
