Election Reflection and Community Reclamation
10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
A number of Election Reflection and Community Reclamation activities will be held at the Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St. Drop by to make cards of hope for local food pantry guests and volunteers. Arabic and Spanish-speakers are especially needed. Collect nonperishable food items. At 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., a meditation and group reflection will be held to process the day and find peace. Equity Theme Meeting: Child Health Research Institute

What Comes Next? Post-Election Student Support

Stop the Bleed Course
Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
PennyAppeal at VCU will host a Stop the Bleed Course in the theater of the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. Students will be taught how to control serious bleeding before the arrival of paramedics. The Power of Improv: Panel Discussion in Partnership With the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care
Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Improv, commonly known as a theatrical medium for comedic entertainment, can also be used as a teaching method. Improv revolves around communication in the moment that, when structured for education, can improve empathy, communication, collaboration, mindfulness, creative risk-taking and validation. Elizabeth Byland, director of Applied Health Improv, associate professor, VCU Department of Theatre, will lead a panel as part of VCUarts' Faculty Lecture Series. Also scheduled to participate in the panel are Alan Dow, M.D., assistant vice president of Health Sciences for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care, president and CEO of UHS-PEP, VCU Health Continuing Education; and Cindee Rolston, Ph.D., director of Inpatient Rehabilitation Psychology, assistant professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and director of Psychosocial Services and Interprofessional Science at Sheltering Arms Institute.

YWCA Charity Drive
The final collection day for the Women in Science's YWCA Charity Drive is Nov. 6. Collection boxes are available in the lobbies of Sanger Hall, 1101 E. Marshall St., and the Molecular Medicine Research Building, 1220 E. Broad St. Donations should include school supplies such as markers, sharpeners and whiteboards and household items such as pillows, sheets, mops, dishcloths and plates.
