Staying Safe in Off-Campus Activities

In addition to the steps VCU is taking to keep students safe on campus, VCU REAL wants the university community to know what is being done for health and safety in off-campus academic activities. Students engaging in off-campus activities are also asked to sign an acknowledgement-of-risk form that clarifies what can be expected at learning situations — such as internship or volunteer sites — and what to do if students feel precautions aren't being followed.

Digital Crisis Communications for Global Pandemics

In partnership with the Robertson School of Media and Culture, the asynchronous online course Digital Crisis Communications for Global Pandemics is available in a noncredit format with Jeanine Guidry, Ph.D., from Sept. 21-Oct. 31 and is open to all. VCU student, alumni, VCU and VCU Health employee, and military discounts are available. The revenue generated from this course will be dedicated to further COVID-19-related research by the school's Media+Health Lab.
