Do they know how to be safe when watching younger siblings? The Safe Sitter Babysitting Course, offered by VCU Health, is designed to prepare students in grades six through eight to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. A three-day virtual class will be held on Aug. 17, and also Aug. 18 and 19 at 10-11:30 a.m. The cost is $25 and includes a student handbook. New Discounted Daily Parking Permits Available for Employees

Beginning at 3 p.m. Aug. 14, VCU Parking and Transportation will offer a discounted single-use daily permit for employees. Permits are valid for up to 24 hours per day in designated parking facilities on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses at a cost of $8. MCV Campus permits can be purchased in person at 659 N. Eighth St., and Monroe Park Campus permits can be purchased online. Learn more about purchasing a daily parking permit at the following URL.

Guarding Against Unconscious Bias

VCU's Learning, Development and Organizational Culture team will present "Unconscious Bias," a multi-part playlist that explores how unconscious bias affects our lives, our work and ourselves. The content includes tactics to combat unconscious bias, talking about bias and breaking bias habits. The playlist consists of 14 four- to nine-minute micro-learnings that can be started, stopped and reviewed at any time. Log into Talent@VCU, hover over the Learning Tab, click on Learning Search, filter by Type, select Playlist and locate Unconscious Bias Playlist.
