National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Informational Session

The National Scholarship Office will host two virtual informational sessions about the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and how to apply. This five-year grant includes three years of funding for tuition and educational costs for graduate study in the STEM fields. Two Funded Language-Study-Abroad Opportunities

Students of all years and all majors who are interested in the study of critical languages are invited to attend this informational session, hosted by the National Scholarship Office about the Critical Language Scholarship and the Boren Awards. The Critical Language Scholarship funds a summer intensive language study abroad, while Boren funds a longer-term study abroad in a non-Western, non-English speaking country. The National Scholarship Office will host two virtual informational sessions about the Goldwater Scholarship, an award for sophomores and juniors planning to pursue a career in STEM-field research. Sound as an Interdisciplinary Medium

Throughout a career in sound art, electronic music and soundtrack composition, Stephen Vitiello, professor and chair, Kinetic Imaging, VCUarts, has created works in which sound is a primary medium. At the same time, he has collaborated across disciplines, including working with award-winning artists, dancers and choreographers, novelists, poets and a biologist. In this lecture, Vitiello will discusse the interdisciplinary power and potential of audio and visual art.

The Cabell Library Undergraduate Advisory Committee is accepting applications from undergraduates for 2020-21. The committee discusses library issues, gives feedback on library services and facilities, meets with library administrators and promotes the value of Cabell Library in the academic and social life of undergraduates. Facets of Esoterics: Dance Performances
VCUarts The Anderson, in collaboration with the Department of Dance + Choreography, will present an installation and series of performances by Sinclair Emoghene. The dance considers racial equity and the impacts of privilege. Performances will take place three times weekly through Sept. 3. A reservation must be secured in advance to attend.
