Join the Center for Interprofessional Education and Inter Health Professionals Alliance for an interest meeting on the National CLARION Competition. This is a student case competition for health professional students, enabling them to achieve a 360-degree perspective on patient safety in today's health care system and how it might be improved. Student teams, consisting of four students, composed of at least two disciplines, are given a case and are charged with creating a root cause analysis. The team presents its analysis to a panel of interprofessional judges that evaluates their analysis in the context of real-world standards of practice. With the support of a VCUarts Dean’s Exploratory Research Grant, the Patterns of Place research team has, over the past two years, engaged professional designers in pattern documentation exercises. Seven professional designers have submitted nearly 100 pattern observations to the research team, investigating patterns in natural and built environments. This panel discussion, part of the VCUarts Faculty Lecture Series, will share research outcomes and the varied processes used by the designers who participated.
