'A Conversation on Obsession: Male Same-Sex Relations in China, 1900–1950'

Sums of Squares: A Real Projective Story

Gregory Smith, Ph.D., Queen's University, Canada, will review general methods for certifying a polynomial is nonnegative in a talk that is part of the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Colloquium Series. A multivariate real polynomial is nonnegative if its value at any real point is greater than or equal to zero. These special polynomials play a central role in many branches of mathematics including algebraic geometry, optimization theory and dynamical systems. Bodyweight Strength With Jess

Virtual Production, Visual Effects and the Future of Filmmaking

Matt Wallin, professor, Department of Communication Arts, will draw upon his decades of experience as a visual effects artist in such films as "King Kong" and "Star Wars." VITAL Weight and Wellness Program
VITAL is a research study testing a weight and wellness program specifically designed for people living with diabetes. If you are eligible to participate in this study, you will be asked to attend in-person data collection visits at three time points, participate in a 24-week program consisting of weekly virtual (Zoom) group meetings led by a trained coach at no cost to you and keep track of your weight, food and physical activity using a digital app.
