Whose Lives Matter: Life Expectancy Across Richmond

IExcel Education will present an online pop-up course exploring concepts related to life expectancy across Richmond. Participants will learn about social determinants of health and how bias and systemic racism contribute to inequities. The first session was held Oct. 12 and the second and third sessions will be held Oct. 19 and Oct. 26. It will be led by Candace Johnson, Ph.D., M.P.H., RN, clinical assistant professor of the School of Nursing, and John Countryman, Ph.D. One of the three courses will include two guest speakers. Communicating COVID-19

Because of misinformation, beliefs about COVID-19 vary widely and can stray far from the truth. How can correct information be disseminated in ways that will be heard and accepted by people with competing beliefs? Join VCU Libraries for a panel discussion about strategies, struggles and stories around communicating COVID information. The event, free and open to all, will be broadcast live on YouTube. Social Justice-Injustice Series: Equality in Education

What's On Your Ballot? Amendment 1

Virginia21 at VCU will participate in a bipartisan panel about Constitutional Amendment 1 on the ballot this Election Day. This referendum is on gerrymandering in Virginia. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Healthcare Workers Well-Being During COVID-19
We are a research team at Virginia Commonwealth University and Hadassah, Hebrew-University Hospital, who are conducting a study to better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on healthcare workers with regard to employment and well-being. Hopefully, the results of the study will provide us with more insights about how people’s employment and life in general have changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and help us think about ways to assist.
