September is Suicide Prevention Month and this interactive virtual Weeks of Welcome event, presented by University Counseling Services, will provide information and resources related to suicide prevention and supporting loved ones in crisis. University Counseling Services will offer a review of warning signs, dispel myths, explore how to show up for others with empathy and share practical guidance for getting help. Understanding Unconscious Bias

Ride a Bike at VCU? Make Sure It's Protected
VCU Police has received nine reports of bike theft this academic year. Police encourage cyclists to take these steps to prevent theft: 1. Use a U-lock and secure to a bike rack. 2. Lock your bike in a well-lighted area. 3. Check on your bike periodically, wherever it’s parked. 4. Register your bike with VCU Police at the following URL. MCV Campus Traffic Alert for Sept. 5
On Sept. 5, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., East Marshall Street, between 11th and 13th streets, will be closed. The VCU Medical Center Gateway Building entrance and valet loop will also be closed. All vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be redirected to the Patient and Visitor Parking Deck, 529 N. 12th St. Detour signage will be in place.
