'Developing an Anti-Racism Framework for Family Medicine'

VCU's Department of Family Medicine and Population Health will host Danielle Jones, MPH, and Tanya Anim, M.D., FAAFP, as the speakers for its 10th annual Clancy A. Holland Lecture via Zoom. Jones, American Academy of Family Physicians' director of Diversity and Health Equity, and Anim, assistant professor at Florida State University's College of Medicine's Family Medicine Residency Program, will present "Developing an Anti-Racism Framework for Family Medicine." 'Kandis Williams: A Field' — Opening Weekend at ICA
10 a.m.
In "A Field," Kandis Williams uses plant life to explore the ways in which people, much like the crops they cultivate, can be subject to exploitation and control. Through a combination of sculpture, video and installation, "A Field" reveals patterns in the relations between performance, sexualization and labor. "A Field" opens Nov. 6 at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., and will be on view through Aug. 2, 2021.

Stop the Bleed Course
Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
PennyAppeal at VCU will host a Stop the Bleed Course in the theater of the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. Students will be taught how to control serious bleeding before the arrival of paramedics. Participants will gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. At the end of this class, students will receive a certification. Register at the following URL.

Submit a 10-second-or-less video clip saying thanks to your family, your professor, your colleague, your cat, your therapist, your favorite coffee shop barista — whoever helped you power through during these challenging times.
