Recreational Sports Thanksgiving Hours and Closure

VCU Recreational Sports facilities will be closed Nov. 26-29. Facilities will reopen Nov. 30, which is the start of Winter Break hours. On Nov. 25 all facilities will close at 6 p.m. Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center will close at 5:30 p.m. MCV Campus Aquatic Center will close at 2 p.m.

Secure Spaces and Valuables Before Leaving Campus

Many VCU community members may leave campus for Thanksgiving and return in January. The VCU Police Department encourages students, faculty and staff on both campuses to secure spaces, valuables, vehicles and bikes accordingly. Locking up residential and work spaces can deter theft. Those who will be away from campus for an extended period of time should consider taking home all valuable items, including gaming systems. Limited Submission Funding Opportunity for NIH/NCI NCI Early Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00)

Massey Cancer Center is accepting applications for the NCI K99/R00 internal competition. The NCI Early K99/R00 program is designed to suit the career paths of postdoctoral fellows pursuing careers in Data Science and Cancer Control Science, who typically require only a short period of mentored research training beyond their doctoral degrees before obtaining independent faculty positions. Applicants must have a maximum of two years of postdoctoral research experience by Feb. 26, 2021. The internal application deadline is Dec. 17.
