NFTs: What Are They and Why Are They Important?

NFT and Tether founder Craig Sellars will discuss his experiences in the crypto space at a session hosted by the Blockchain Club at VCU. He will also talk about NFTs and their importance. An NFT, a nonfungible token, is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and not interchangeable. Game Composer Antonio Teoli
Tuesday, Apr. 20, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.
Los Angeles-based composer Antonio Teoli will discuss his work for games and films at a presentation hosted by VCUarts. Known as the Brazilian pioneer on game music, since 2003 Teoli has worked as composer and audio director at Devworks, Hoplon, We Love Quiz and Samsung Black River Studios and also with his own company, Andromeda Sound. Teoli has scored nearly 500 game soundtracks for platforms such as PC, Web, Mobile, PS4 and others. Register at the following URL.

Cooper To Headline Doctoral Lecture

Cooper is a professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at Texas A&M University. His research and teaching focuses on participatory planning, particularly as it relates to preparing socially vulnerable populations to prepare for, survive and recover after disasters. VCU Virtual Creative Arts Day Camp Summer 2021
VCU Art Education will present VCU Virtual Creative Arts Day Camp from June 21-July 23, 2021. Each session runs Monday-Friday with morning and afternoon synchronous time slots. Safety and Protection of Minors Orientation Sessions
The Mary and Frances Youth Center will offer four virtual orientation sessions to review the Safety and Protection of Minors Policy and highlight recent changes from the triennial review. Volunteers Sought To Assess Balance, Strength, Physical Function Using Toolkit
Researchers in the Departments of Health Behavior and Policy and Kinesiology and Health Sciences are conducting a study to test whether participants (and an assistant) of 18 years or older can conduct assessments of their balance, strength and walking ability in their home environment with the aid of a toolkit. The testing session takes about 40-60 minutes at home and requires a visit at our labs for the same duration. Contact the following email address for more information.
