Psychology Research Study: The Initiation and Continuation of Mental Health Services in the Transition to College

This study will assess what factors impact undergraduate college students’ decision to start, stop or continue mental health services when they come to college. You will be asked to complete a set of demographic questions about things like your age, gender identity and racial/ethnic identity. Then, you will be asked to complete questions about your living arrangements during the school year, your personal attitudes about mental health care, what type of mental health services you have received. If applicable, you will also be asked to answer questions about your involvement in religious institutions. Your participation in this study should take no more than 30 minutes. Study of Brain Development in Typically Developing Infants

Researchers in the Department of Physical Therapy and Pediatric Radiology are conducting a study to learn about brain development in healthy infants. Infants born 38-40 weeks are invited to participate and enrolled infants will undergo three MRI visits and three assessments during the first six months. You will be compensated for your time and travel. Unsedated MRI visits will be conducted at Children's Hospital of Richmond and developmental assessments can be conducted at home or VCU. Research Study

The Institute of Drug and Alcohol Studies is inviting volunteers aged 18-70 to participate in a research study to add to the science for developing new treatments for people with alcohol use disorder. Study volunteers can be people who don’t drink, drink sometimes, drink every day, or used to drink but now don’t. The study is one to four visits at the CARI Clinic (free parking) and involves answering questions about yourself, playing games on the computer, a physical exam and an MRI scan. Research is private and respectful. Volunteers are paid for their time. To complete a brief interview to see if you may be eligible, call the following telephone number or email study4u@vcu.edu.
