Wednesdays in the Workshop (on the Web): Getting Started With Synthesizers

This interactive-ish session will include demonstrations of hardware and software required to use (and misuse) synthesizers for electronic music, live performance and interactive art. Join Active Minds in Monroe Park to lessen pre-finals stress. Play with the pups and feel free to purchase a Polaroid with them. Active Minds will host a mocktail stand with alcohol abuse prevention information. All proceeds will go to Active Minds Nationals. The Evolution of Anime Art: Understanding the Impact of Diversity and Gatekeeping

Anime is not new, but it has become quite popular in the United States in the past few years. VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs will host an in-depth look the evolution of anime art over time to include more racially diverse populations and its impact on popularizing the entertainment form. The session will also explore how this has opened the door to gatekeeping and its effect on fans who are people of color.

Safety and Protection of Minors Orientation Sessions
