Security Patrols To Increase During Finals

Because students are out later in the evenings to study for finals, VCU's Police Department has increased patrols for RMC Events security officers from 9 p.m.-3 a.m. on the Monroe Park Campus. Security officers will patrol on foot in areas near Cabell Library and the University Student Commons. VCU First Destination Survey Is Live

The VCU First Destination Survey is live for May 2021 graduates on Handshake at VCU. Responses will help VCU to improve career and academic advising, student recruitment and student services. Prizes for completing the survey include AirPods, a Roku player, a robot vacuum, a VCU luggage set and Amazon gift cards. For six months after graduation, those who respond will be able to review/change information and will remain eligible for prize drawings.

Physics Postdoc Receives VCU Science Communication Award

The 2021 VCU Science Communication Award has been awarded to Sean Koebley, Ph.D., for his presentation: “Goodbye, P-value: Practical Bayesian Statistics To Replace Frequentist Statistics.” Koebley is a fellow in the Physics Department. The award is for the best of How-to Talks by Postdocs, a series of instructional talks sponsored by VCU Libraries, VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and the VCU Postdoctoral Association.
