Exhibition Opening: 'It Will Always Come Back to You'
6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The ICA at VCU will host the opening of "Ibrahim Ahmed: It Will Always Come Back to You" at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. The museum's first in-person exhibition opening since February 2020 will feature DJ sets by Ezrakh and DJ Graybeard, a live performance by artist Nyugen Smith and a conversation featuring Ahmed and director and curator Dominic Asmall Willsdon. The indoor/outdoor event is free and open to the public.

Digital Sociology Lab's Summer Learning Series Course One: Using Tableau for Digital Data Research
Saturday, Jul. 24, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
VCU's Digital Sociology Lab will present its inaugural Summer Learning Series in three, six-hour sessions. These online courses, on popular digital data tools currently used by digital sociologists, are free to current VCU students. VCU Police Hiring New Recruits
The VCU Police Department is hiring new police recruits. Recruits are paid to train at the VCU Police Academy. Officers receive free tuition for college courses and excellent state benefits, including health care, retirement and paid vacation time. Volunteers Needed for COVID-19 Study
Researchers are looking for VCU employees, as well as their family members, to volunteer for the COVID-CARES study. Volunteers must be 18 and older and have one of the following apply to them: have had a known exposure to COVID-19 in the last 14 days, currently have suspected COVID-19 symptoms, or have had no known exposure to COVID-19 and no suspected COVID-19 symptoms. Volunteers will be asked to review and electronically sign an informed consent document, complete a survey pertaining to your current symptoms (if any) and any known exposures in the last 14 days. You will be asked to complete two COVID tests at home, provided at no cost. Volunteers are paid for their time. Access the study website and see if you are eligible at the following URL.

Do You Vape Electronic Cigarettes?
Individuals who vape/use electronic cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation will be provided. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
