VCU Police Bike Registration and U-Lock Table
Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
VCU Police will host a U-Lock giveaway and bike registration in front of the James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St., on the MCV campus. VCU students, faculty and staff can receive a free U-Lock with a valid VCU ID and learn how to register their bikes. A limited supply of U-Locks will be provided. Halloween Bake Sale

An exhibition of artworks by Murry N. DePillars, Ph.D., (dean of VCU's School of the Arts from 1976-1995) will be on exhibit through Oct. 14 in the building that bears his name at 1000 W. Research Study: Body Image, Eating and Wellness Among South Asian Women
Are you a South Asian woman between the ages of 18 and 30? If so, you are invited to participate in a research study at VCU. Researchers in VCU’s Department of Psychology are interested in learning more about eating and wellness in the South Asian community. Participation includes assisting the research team with the development of a new eating questionnaire for South Asian American women. Compensation and SONA credits are available.

Participate in a Focus Group on Lung Cancer Screening
VCU Health and Massey Cancer Center are conducting focus groups to understand the experiences of Black men who smoke or used to smoke and their opinions about lung cancer screening, smoking cessation and health care disparities in Virginia. Eligibility criteria: identify as a Black male, current or former smoker and 50 years old or older. Research Participants Wanted
Are you in recovery from substance use? Researchers in the Psychology Department are inviting college students in recovery to participate in a research study in sleep health. Participation may include: completing a daily sleep diary for six weeks, tracking your sleep via a wrist-worn device (provided at no cost), attending two 90-minute discussion groups via Zoom and answering two online surveys. Compensation will be provided for your time.

Filipino American Heart Health Study
Youssef Roman, Pharm.D., Ph.D., of VCU's School of Pharmacy is conducting a study to assess the prevalence and causes of heart diseases in Filipino Americans. This study is for anyone who considers themselves as Filipino with both biological parents of Filipino heritage. The study is funded by VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research.
