VCU Freshman: Spit 4 Science Student Survey Events

If you are a freshman at VCU age 18+, you are eligible to take part in Spit for Science: The VCU Student Survey. This research project looks at how environmental and genetic factors contribute to emotional health along with alcohol and substance use habits. The project now also aims to learn about the impact of COVID-19. RamSafe Travels Cross-Campus Beginning at 5 p.m.
The RamSafe program provides safe and free transportation to on-campus locations and nearby residences and buildings within defined boundaries on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. Students can request a ride from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. RamSafe is now traveling cross-campus, starting at 5 p.m. daily.

Identity-Based Support Groups at University Counseling Services
VCU's University Counseling Services facilitates weekly identity-based student support groups, led by a UCS counselor. Support groups are designed to serve as spaces where students can connect and build community with other students with shared identities. All groups are currently held via Zoom. Students do not need to complete an intake with UCS or be enrolled in other UCS services in order to join a support group. RecWell Children's Swim Lessons Session 1
Parent/Child and Preschool 1-3 Swim Lessons are offered this fall at Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center, 101 S. Linden St. Introduce your child to the water to instill confidence as a swimmer. Classes are taught by certified water safety instructors. Participants will learn techniques in a fun and engaging manner. Session 1 registration closes Sept. 10 at noon. Classes run Saturdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 2.

Participate in a Survey Study on Behavior Change Counseling
Are you a health-care clinician or student who practices or trains in Virginia? If so, then you are likely eligible to participate in a survey study conducted by faculty at VCU. We are interested in how health-care professionals have learned behavioral health counseling, specifically motivational interviewing.
