VCU Health and Massey Cancer Center are conducting focus groups to understand the experiences of Black men who smoke or used to smoke and their opinions about lung cancer screening, smoking cessation and health care disparities in Virginia. Patients With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Are Invited To Participate in a Study of a Potential New Treatment

We are inviting male and female Type 2 diabetes patients with painful diabetic neuropathy ages 18-75 to participate in a research investigation of a new treatment to alleviate pain and examine its effects on pain perception. In addition to the new treatment, this study involves completing surveys and undergoing tests to evaluate perceptions of pain. Volunteers will be compensated for their time. Participants are only required to come once for the study. The study is conducted within the VCU Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Lab. Call for Research Participants

We are looking for healthy participants who are smokers to provide a blood sample for a research project investigating the immune function of blood cells of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We are looking for participants without COPD as a control group for the study. In addition to the blood sample, we will ask you questions about your health and medications but no information will be gathered from your medical records. Participants will be compensated.
