Berglund Seminar Series: 'Research and Education in Rwanda'

The Honors College Berglund Seminar Series will host "Research and Education in Rwanda: Common Ground in the Land of 1,000 Hills." Dennis Hopkinson, M.D., will cover his research in Rwanda over the last three years, in which he collaborated with local researchers on multiple projects. He will explore sepsis and acute coronary syndrome in Rwanda, discuss barriers to taking blood pressure medications and describe a Vitamin C in sepsis clinical trial. 'Zionism Today and Tomorrow: A Model of Liberal-Nationalism'

'The Day the Klan Came to Town:' A Comic Book Retelling of Community Resistance

VCU's Humanities Research Center and VCU Libraries will present author Bill Campbell and artist Bizhan Khodabandeh, who will discuss their work on a graphic novel which is a fictionalized retelling of a community’s resistance to a violent 1923 march of thousands of Ku Klux Klan members in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Diversity and Inclusion Facilitator Training
Would you like to feel more comfortable leading dialogue about difference? Apply now to learn about inclusive dialogue and to practice and increase your skills in leading inclusive dialogue about our diverse social identities. IExcel is accepting applications now for its new Diversity and Inclusion Facilitator Training, led by Tamisha Williams. Participants will reflect on identity, practice deep listening and discuss ways to address tension and conflict, among other core facilitation skills. Selected facilitators who opt for the RAMmalogues Facilitator Track will earn $500 and commit to co-facilitating RAMmalogues sessions (at least once per semester through 2022).
