SCIE Amassador Program
VCU's Office of Student Experience is recruiting for its SCIE (Student Council for an Inclusive Environment) Ambassador cohort. The SCIE Ambassador Program is an inter-professional leadership opportunity for medical graduate students who are interested in and have a passion for cultivating diversity and inclusion across the medical campus. Safety and Protection of Minors Orientation Sessions
VCU's Mary and Frances Youth Center will offer virtual orientation sessions to review the Safety and Protection of Minors Policy and highlight recent changes. The orientations are geared for those new to the policy and those who are familiar to understand how the changes will impact them. Sessions will be offered 9-10 a.m. Aug. 25 and noon-1 p.m. Sept. 9. VCU Police Are Hiring Student Safety Ambassadors
VCU Police are hiring additional student safety ambassadors for the new academic year. Student safety ambassadors respond to locations where sworn police officers are not required and assist in a non-law enforcement capacity. Positions are open to VCU students in their second year and above.

New Travel Accident Insurance for International Travelers
Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) is the new provider of emergency evacuation and travel assistance services for VCU and the VCU Health System. Employees and other authorized business travelers are automatically covered while on VCU sponsored travel abroad but are encouraged to register their international itinerary on the CISI business traveler website at https://www.culturalinsurance.com/vcu-bt/. These travelers may also consider the optional travel health insurance coverage offered by CISI for an additional cost. For questions regarding the travel insurance and services offered by CISI, email srm@vcu.edu. Students participating in most education abroad programs administered by the VCU Global Education Office will be automatically enrolled by GEO in the CISI plan. All other student travelers will be prompted to self-enroll in the plan upon registration with GEO. Top Hat Is Now Free for VCU Students
Top Hat’s active learning platform allows instructors to conduct polls, track attendance, host discussions and present slides and assessments for interactive learning. Now free for all VCU students, responses can be submitted by students by using a mobile device, tablet, laptop or SMS and are no longer required to purchase “clickers” or subscriptions.
