Toys for Tots Campaign

Dec. 13 is the last day to donate to the Toys for Tots campaign. Women in Science is hosting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Collection boxes are available for new, unwrapped toys for needy children in the Richmond area at Sanger Hall, 1101 E. Marshall St.; Molecular Medicine Research Building, 1220 E. Broad St.; Jonah L. Larrick Student Center, 900 Turpin St.; and Hunton Student Center, 1110 E. Broad St. (Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons or gifts with food. If donated, such items will not be distributed.)

Learning and Development Courses To Be Retired

VCU HR Learning, Development and Organizational Culture team developed several new learning courses for university employees that will be launched in 2022. To make room for the new courses, three courses will be removed from the current offerings: Understanding Unconscious Bias, Leading Change and Resilient Leadership. Beginning in 2022, these courses will only be available upon request using a Help Desk ticket.

New Form Required for International Visitors to Campus

In an effort to mitigate the risk of undue foreign influence at VCU, a new form is required to be completed, the "International Visitor pre-screen form," prior to hosting international visitors to campus. The form can be found on the Export Compliance web page, under the dropdown "Hosting International Visitors on campus."

Fall 2021 Final Grading Due Dec. 22 at Noon

Grade sheets are now available on faculty eServices. Grades are due by noon on Dec. 22, at which time grade entry will no longer be available. It is imperative to meet this deadline to complete all end of the semester processes. Faculty may choose to use the feature to upload grades from an Excel file into eServices. Faculty may only access grade sheets for courses to which they have been assigned.

VRS Hybrid Voluntary Contribution Election Deadline Is Dec. 15

Dec. 15 is the quarterly election deadline for voluntary contributions to become effective in January for the Virginia Retirement System Hybrid Plan. Participants can voluntarily contribute up to 4 percent of their creditable salary and receive up to a 2.5 percent employer match. Request VCU HR support from https://go.vcu.edu/hrsupport.

The 2022 You First Peer Mentoring application is now open. First-generation college students who are rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply. Peer mentors serve as guides to new first-gen students and they benefit from being part of a close-knit group of other first-gen mentors who share experiences, celebrations and friendship. New Print-At-Home Daily Parking Permits

Employees without a VCU parking subscription are now able to purchase $6 daily value credentials/permits from home. Daily credentials for the Monroe Park Campus can be printed at home and used when needed in the decks on West Broad, West Main, West Cary, Jefferson or Henry streets. MCV Campus daily permits can be purchased in the office for A Lot. Upon purchasing, users do not need to pull a ticket upon deck entry.
