VCU and community representatives will unveil four panels outside the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building Auditorium, 1217 E. Marshall St., telling the history of the 19th-century human remains discovered in an abandoned well on the MCV Campus. Members of the VCU and VCU Health communities are invited to attend and stay for facilitated discussion/engagement afterward. Exhibition Opening – Dineo Seshee Bopape at ICA: 'Ile Aye, Moya, Là, Ndokh … Harmonic Conversations … mm'

VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., will celebrate its new commissioned exhibition by South African artist Dineo Seshee Bopape, "Ile aye, moya, là, ndokh … harmonic conversations … mm." The event will feature music by Michael Demps and WRIR’s DJ Graybeard, an offering by poet and speaker Bayo Akomlafe and remarks by Bopape and curator Amber Esseiva. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening.

Participate in a Focus Group on Lung Cancer Screening
VCU Health and Massey Cancer Center are conducting focus groups to understand the experiences of Black men who smoke or used to smoke and their opinions about lung cancer screening, smoking cessation and health care disparities in Virginia. Eligibility criteria: identify as a Black male, current or former smoker and 50 years old or older.
