Bikes Near the Compass Should Be Removed by 4 p.m. Today
In preparation for Saturday’s gubernatorial rally on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus, all bikes should be removed from bike racks located on the Compass. This includes racks near Hibbs Hall, Cabell Library and Shafer Dining; bikes should be removed by 4 p.m. today, Oct. 21. After 4 p.m., VCU Facilities will tag bikes for removal and will remove them starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22. Cyclists can contact RamBikes starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 25 to retrieve a bike if it was removed; to reclaim a bike, cyclists must have the key to their bike lock. VCU Police can provide new, free U-locks to cyclists, if needed; VCUPD headquarters is located at 224 E. Broad St. or cyclists can email crimeprevreq@vcu.edu. The bike racks on the Compass will be available for use again after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

VCU Police will host a U-Lock giveaway and bike registration in front of the James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St., on the MCV campus. VCU students, faculty and staff can receive a free U-Lock with a valid VCU ID and learn how to register their bikes. A limited supply of U-Locks will be provided. Virtual Screening: Nadine Nour el Din's 'roads through the city'

VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center will host a virtual screening of Nadine Nour el Din’s short film "roads through the city," plus a conversation with Nour el Din, artist Ibrahim Ahmed and ICA Executive Director Dominic Asmall Willsdon. Created in response to Ibrahim Ahmed’s video work "Tuk Tuk Diaries," on view at the ICA as part of the exhibition "It Always Comes Back to You," "roads through the city" explores cinematic journeys through different Egyptian cities using footage from Egyptian films. Screening and Prevention Strategies for High-Risk Breast Cancer
