Afghan Relief Fundraiser
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
VCU School of Dentistry students will raise money to provide oral hygiene kits for Afghan refugees at Fort Lee. The event, in the Crockett Lounge, 520 N. 12th St., will include custom-fitted scrub cap orders and signed copies of "Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Secrets Third Edition," by Omar Abubaker, D.M.D., Ph.D., available for silent auction. Stories and Lunch

The topic of the event is crazy work stories. Stories help build community and bridge political, social and cultural divides. Totes Get Out the Vote

Join the VCU Votes Student Coalition and the Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassadors in the Ram Horns Plaza to make your own screen-printed Get Out the Vote Tote with Studio Two Three. Wednesdays in the Workshop: Breaking Blender: Digging Deep into Open Source 3D Software

This session covers the basics of the open-source 3D creation software Blender. The workshop is structured around an autopsy, in which participants will dig into the guts of a professional-grade project. This deep-dive with approachable explanations and guided instruction should be a useful exercise for both advanced and beginner users. The session is organized by the Workshop at VCU Libraries. Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste: 'Set It Off'

An exhibition by Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste consists of two variations of a monumental, immersive, sonic sculpture installed at two sites. At the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., visitors will be invited to enter two large-scale black cubes made of wood, polyethylene and tinted glass. At 1708 Gallery, 319 W. Broad St., visitors will encounter a black square pool built of similar materials. The exhibit will be on view through June 19, 2022.

Free Art Therapy for Cancer Caregivers

In celebration of Cancer Caregiver Month, VCU Massey Cancer Center Office of Community Outreach and Engagement and the Health Hub @ 25th are hosting free art therapy for cancer caregivers. Participate in a Focus Group on Lung Cancer Screening
VCU Health and Massey Cancer Center are conducting focus groups to understand the experiences of Black men who smoke or used to smoke and their opinions about lung cancer screening, smoking cessation and health care disparities in Virginia. Research Study on Two Stress Reduction Programs
We are seeking to enroll participants for a research study on two stress reduction programs. Participants will receive a 14-day smartphone-based stress reduction course free of charge. Study includes a lab session before and after the stress reduction course wherein participants will fill out brief surveys and complete several brief tasks during fNIRS neuroimaging.
