RamSafe Holiday Hours

RamSafe will operate from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. Students and employees can place ride requests through the RamSafe app, ramsafe.vcu.edu or by calling 828-SAFE (7233).

Maker Garage Training Courses

Registration is open for a Makers' Training Workshop and for Makers’ Courses (Modules I, II and III) for VCU students who seek to use the VCU Maker Garage. Students must first complete the orientation and general safety training through the College of Engineering before registering for the more advanced courses. 3D Printing and Laser Cutting begins Jan. 18; Module 1 begins Jan. 25. Morning and afternoon sections are available.

Apply to Become a You First Peer Mentor

The 2022 You First Peer Mentoring application is now open. First-generation college students who are rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply. Peer mentors serve as guides to new first-gen students and they benefit from being part of a close-knit group of other first-gen mentors who share experiences, celebrations and friendship. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students. Apply at the following URL by Feb. 8.

New Print-At-Home Daily Parking Permits

Employees without a VCU parking subscription are now able to purchase $6 daily value credentials/permits from home. Daily credentials for the Monroe Park Campus can be printed at home and used when needed in the decks on West Broad, West Main, West Cary, Jefferson or Henry streets. MCV Campus daily permits can be purchased in the office for A Lot. Upon purchasing, users do not need to pull a ticket upon deck entry.

TEDxVCU Speaker Applications Deadline Is Dec. 22

TEDxVCU, sponsored by The Commons, is seeking diverse, idea-driven talks and performances from a variety of voices in the university community.
