Lecture by Visiting Artist Awol Erizku

VCU's Department of Painting and Printmaking will present a virtual lecture by Awol Erizku, an artist working in photography, film, sculpture and installation. The artist seeks to create a new vernacular that bridges the gap between African and African American visual culture, referencing art history, hip hop and spirituality in his work.

United2Heal Shipment Day

United2Heal at VCU will have a shipment day warehouse volunteer event to send surplus medical supplies to Sierra Leone. Volunteers will help load a rental truck with boxed medical supplies from the United2Heal warehouse at 1210 Bentley St. Rides will be provided at the Commons loop from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Coffee and breakfast will be provided.

Call for Applications: Harris Manchester College Summer Research Institute at Oxford University
VCU's Global Education Office, in partnership with the university's Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, is now accepting applications for the 2022 Harris Manchester College Summer Research Institute to take place July 3-9 at Oxford University. The institute is an opportunity for faculty to enhance a research project through a week of focused study. Filipino American Heart Health Study
Youssef Roman, Pharm.D., Ph.D., of VCU's School of Pharmacy is conducting an epidemiological study to assess the prevalence and causes of heart diseases in Filipino Americans. This study is for those who consider themselves Filipino with both biological parents of Filipino heritage. The study is funded by VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research.
