Bank of America Tech Talk: AI and Machine Learning Driving Business Innovation

Bank of America and the College of Engineering are sponsoring a tech talk for members of the VCU community interested in learning more about artificial intelligence and machine learning. Bank of America will share use cases to demonstrate how AI and machine learning are driving innovation in the organization. Graduate Organization of Biology Students 2022 Spring Symposium Keynote

Ariana Sutton-Grier, Ph.D., will deliver the keynote address at the spring symposium of the graduate organization of biology students at VCU. Sutton-Grier, University of Maryland, is an ecosystem ecologist whose interest is at the nexus of science and policy. The hybrid talk will be at the theater of the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., and also via Zoom. United2Heal at VCU Warehouse Event
3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
United2Heal at VCU resumes its weekly warehouse volunteer event. At the warehouse, 1210 Bentley St., volunteers organize, sort and track donated medical supplies to prepare for shipment. Rides to the warehouse are provided at the Commons loop from 3-4 p.m. United2Heal is a student-run nonprofit organization that collects surplus medical supplies from local hospitals and clinics to send to countries in need of emergency medical relief.

VCU Department of Theatre To Present 'Macbeth3'
5:30 p.m.
The VCU Department of Theatre will present "Macbeth3," a stripped-down, explosive, gender-bent theater experience with Satanic seduction based on Shakespeare’s "Tragedy of Macbeth." Closing weekend performances will be outdoors at VCU's Park Plaza, the amphitheater east of the Singleton Center. Tickets are available for purchase ($5-10) at the box office at W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. Performances will be at 5:30 p.m. on April 1 and April 2 and 2 p.m. on April 3.

VCU Music To Present Viano String Quartet

VCU's Mary Anne Rennolds Chamber Concert Series will present the Viano String Quartet at the W.E. Bike Maintenance 201 With RamBikes

RamBikes will host a Bike Maintenance 201 workshop at 1106 W. Broad St. (near the intersection of Broad and Harrison streets) for those with bike riding experience. As a follow-up to Bike Maintenance 101, this course will cover all minor adjustments that you can make at home. It will include brake adjustment and brake pad replacement, cable tension and an explanation of derailleur adjustments.

Coughing and Scoffing: Inequities in the Time of COVID-19

History and Health: Racial Equity will host a virtual panel to explore how the COVID-19 pandemic reflects and exacerbates longstanding structural, systematic racial inequities that determine individual and communities’ health and access to health care. Join moderator Chris Cynn, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, who will lead a conversation with panelists Michelle Viray, director of Richmond and Henrico Health Districts; John Powers, Ph.D., chair of the Department of History; Regina Boone, Richmond Free Press photojournalist, and Luise "Cheezi" Farmer, chair of Diversity Richmond. VCU Police To Offer Self-Defense Course for Women
VCU Police will host Rape Aggression Defense training April 12, 14, 19 and 21. The course teaches participants physical self-defense techniques and raises awareness about sexual assault, violence and abduction. The class is for women (assigned/identifying/transgender) and is free to students, or $10 for faculty, staff and visitors. RAD is a 12-hour program and participants must be able to attend all dates.
