Free Flu Vaccines at University Student Health Services

University Student Health Services offers free flu vaccines to all students on both campuses. The flu vaccine is safe, effective and does not cause the flu. All students are encouraged to get the flu vaccine, especially those at high risk for flu complications (those who have asthma, diabetes or heart disease). Ram Pantry Surplus Program

Join the Ram Pantry in the fight to reduce food waste. The pantry is seeking students, faculty and staff who would like to receive free surplus produce and bread that would otherwise go to waste. Apply to Become a You First Peer Mentor

The 2022 You First Peer Mentoring application is now open. First-generation college students who are rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply. Peer mentors serve as guides to new first-gen students and they benefit from being part of a close-knit group of other first-gen mentors who share experiences, celebrations and friendship. Maker Garage Training Courses

Registration is open for a Makers' Training Workshop and Makers’ Courses (Modules I, II and III) for VCU students who seek to use the VCU Maker Garage. Students must first complete the Orientation and General Safety Training through the College of Engineering before registering for the more advanced courses. Interested in an internship this summer but either is unpaid or doesn't pay enough to cover your expenses? Apply for financial assistance through the new VCU Internship Funding Program. Open to undergraduate students, funds provided can be used to cover internship expenses for travel, housing, child care, professional attire and supplies. The application for Summer 2022 students opens Jan. 24 in the RAMS Scholarship Hub and closes on March 15.

Patients With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Are Invited To Participate in a Study of a Potential New Treatment

We are inviting male and female Type 2 diabetes patients with painful diabetic neuropathy ages 18-75 to participate in a research investigation of a new treatment to alleviate pain and examine its effects on pain perception. In addition to the new treatment, this study involves completing surveys and undergoing tests to evaluate perceptions of pain. Volunteers will be compensated for their time. Participants are only required to come once for the study.
