Bench to Community Seminar Five

Translating an innovation from the research stage into early-stage development for commercialization can be facilitated by using targeted consultant agencies for their area-specific expertise. VCU Recreation and Well-Being First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Course
The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Course teaches participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies for victims of any age. The course includes treatment for burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries and heat and cold emergencies. The blended format features a virtual experience in which participants respond to real-world emergencies in preparation for the instructor-led classroom skill session. RecWell Adult Swim Lessons
The first session of VCU Health Promotion and Well-Being Center (RecWell) adult swim lessons will be offered Jan. 31-Feb. 24. All classes will be held at Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center, 101 S. Linden St., and are open to all VCU students, RecWell members and non-members. Classes include beginner, intermediate/advanced and all levels. Register by Jan. 30 at noon. Recruiting Now for TEENS, a Virtual Weight Management Research Program for 12-16 Year-Olds
Are you concerned about your teen’s weight? We can help. TEENS is a research program that includes a four-month family-based lifestyle intervention – all conducted virtually – for teens ages 12 to 16 who are overweight or obese. The program is offered by Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. It includes weekly, virtual group classes for teens and parents that cover topics such as healthy eating, physical activity and goal-setting. Teens also participate in live exercise sessions conducted online by personal trainers.
