Apply by June 30 for one of the IExcel Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Certificate specialization online courses that begin on July 12. These courses are being offered a la carte for VCU faculty and staff. Applicants may choose one or two specialization courses (Cultivating Inclusive Learning Environments D527, Diversity and Inclusion in Healthcare D604 or Advancing Diversity and Equity in Corporate Settings D707) to be taken online July 12-Aug. 9. The a la carte fee is $500 per course, payable by departmental transfer. A certificate will be awarded to each participant who successfully completes the course. Enrollment is limited. Submit Items to The Compass Orientation Guide

The Compass, created by VCU's media outlets, is the ultimate survival guide for new students and transfers. The publication includes articles written by VCU student staff, local advertisements and contributions from VCU departments and organizations. The Compass will be available through the VCU Mobile app, promoted during Weeks of Welcome and linked throughout multiple avenues reaching thousands of students and families. Submit by July 12. Virginia Overtime Wage Act

Beginning July 1, Virginia employers, including VCU, will be subject to the Virginia Overtime Wage Act. The act states new overtime pay requirements including the elimination of paying overtime leave in lieu of overtime pay, except for police officers.
