This traveling exhibit from the National Library of Medicine will be at the Health Sciences Library from March 11-April 19. The exhibit examines the annals of American Civil War medical history, exploring the accounts of surgeons, physicians and nurses. It delves into the valor and harsh realities of battlefield medical procedures. Hundreds of thousands were permanently disabled by battlefield injuries or surgery, which often saved lives by sacrificing limbs.
