VCU-Google-Resultant Workshop, Super Charging Research With Google and Resultant - From Data to Insight
Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center for a one-day, two-session hands-on workshop exploring how Google Cloud tools and Resultant’s expertise can modernize your research workflow. The morning session (9:30 a.m.-noon): Learn to leverage new AI tools (including Google Co-Scientist) to boost your daily research and grant success. The afternoon session (1-3 p.m.): Learn to build end-to-end workflows for advanced biostatistical analysis and machine learning deployment. The event will feature interactive demonstrations, real-world use cases (including TCGA datasets) and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines. Rollator Repair at VCU Health Hub
Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The VCU Health Hub, 1330 N. 25th St., will hold a rollator repair clinic. Free rollator (four-wheeled walker) safety checks and basic repairs will be offered, including: tightening brakes, adjusting handles and replacing worn nuts and bolts. Some part replacements (wheels, seats) may be available.

Faculty and Staff Open Enrollment for Health Coverage and Flexible Spending: Through May 30
Open enrollment for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s health coverage and flexible spending plans takes place through Friday, May 30. Eligible university faculty and staff may enroll in flexible spending accounts and/or make changes to health coverage elections for the plan year that begins July 1, 2025. No action is required to maintain current health coverage elections for the upcoming plan year, but enrollment is required to begin or continue participation in flexible spending. COVA Care and COVA HealthAware participants can qualify for premium rewards for the upcoming plan year by completing a new or updated health assessment. Questions? Equity and Access Services Shares New ADA Title II Rule on Digital Accessibility
Title II of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requires state and local government entities such as VCU to ensure that all services, programs and activities are accessible to people with disabilities. The Department of Justice recently published its new rule and accompanying New Rule Fact Sheet which revised requirements regarding digital accessibility. These updates will affect VCU units whose work intersects with students and the public. Compliance must begin on April 24, 2026.

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Acute and Chronic Stress on Cardiovascular Health
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as Black or African American are invited to participate in a research study examining the effect of acute and chronic stress on cardiovascular and inflammation responses to an acute mental challenge. Raffle drawings for financial compensation will be conducted. This study will take place at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. We are also inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as cis-gender heterosexual for the control group. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of chronic psychosocial stress and vascular inflammation to an acute mental challenge.
