Come and Sing: Vox Concordia Seeking Singers

Climbing Endurance Challenge
Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026 at 8 a.m.
The Outdoor Adventure Program will host its third annual climbing endurance competition from Tuesday, Aug. 18 to Tuesday, Sept. 1 at the Cary Street Gym, 101 S. Linden St. Climbers will compete against one another to see how many vertical feet they can climb within two weeks. Top participants will be awarded prizes and posted on the Outdoor Adventure Program climbing wall leaderboard. Stop by the climbing wall front desk to register and pick up your scorecard.

Role Players Needed for Full-Scale Exercise

Large multijurisdictional full-scale training exercise aimed at improving the university's response to a large impact incident on the VCU campus. Volunteering for this exercise is beneficial for any students, faculty or staff interested in homeland security and emergency preparedness, or who would like to contribute directly to improving the overall safety of the VCU community. Must be a minimum of 18 years old, wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty with simulated makeup and be willing to be transported via ambulance to medical centers in the downtown area for "simulated triage." RamsXpress To Add Two New Stops
Starting Monday, Aug. 17, VCU Parking and Transportation will add two new stops to the RamsXpress route. In addition to the current stops at James Branch Cabell Library, the Jonah L. Larrick Center and 11th and Clay streets, point-to-point service will also offer new stops at Eighth and Franklin streets and Eighth and Main streets. The RamsXpress will run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Download the Ride Pingo app to track buses in real time.

Translational Research Informatics Course – Fall 2026
VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Regional Center for Clinical and Translational Research is offering a Translational Research Informatics course (CCTR691) this semester. Open to Master’s and Doctoral students across disciplines, this hands-on course will build the practical skills and vocabulary to manage data, use modern AI and informatics tools and collaborate confidently with technical experts, all without requiring extensive programming experience. Audition for VCU Commonwealth Singers
Do you love to sing? VCU Commonwealth Singers (APPM 358) is welcoming auditions from students across the university for Fall 2026. Openings are available in all voice parts. This is an especially exciting year to join the ensemble. Commonwealth Singers has been selected to perform at the 2026 Virginia Music Educators Association Conference, representing VCU before music educators from across the Commonwealth. Commonwealth Singers is an advanced SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) ensensemble for singers who are excited about challenging repertoire, meaningful music-making and being part of a strong choral community. Volunteers Needed to Assist With Fourth Grade Heart Health Course Lunenburg, Va.
Teach blood pressure is a heart health education program designed to uplift fourth grade students as heart-health changemakers. During this weeklong course, students will learn how to care for their hearts, monitor blood pressure and keep their communities healthy. Classroom volunteers are needed to assist with keeping students on task, facilitating games and activities and acting as practice patients for students. The program will take place at both Victoria Elementary School and Kenbridge Elementary School in Lunenburg, Va., between Monday, Sept. 14 and Friday, Oct. 9.
