Role Players Needed for Full-Scale Exercise
Wednesday, Sep. 30, 2026 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Large multijurisdictional full-scale training exercise aimed at improving the university's response to a large impact incident on the VCU campus. Volunteering for this exercise is beneficial for any students, faculty or staff interested in homeland security and emergency preparedness, or who would like to contribute directly to improving the overall safety of the VCU community. Must be a minimum of 18 years old, wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty with simulated makeup and be willing to be transported via ambulance to medical centers in the downtown area for "simulated triage." VCU To Launch New Paratransit Service, RamsLink
Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, a new paratransit shuttle, RamsLink, will provide a specialized point-to-point paratransit service designed to ensure campus accessibility across both campuses for all members of the VCU community. Operating during academic semesters, the new transit service will offer a dedicated mobility option for students, faculty and staff navigating physical barriers due to temporary, permanent or long-term disabilities. RamsXpress To Add Two New Stops
Starting Monday, Aug. 17, VCU Parking and Transportation will add two new stops to the RamsXpress route. In addition to the current stops at James Branch Cabell Library, the Jonah L. Larrick Center and 11th and Clay streets, point-to-point service will also offer new stops at Eighth and Franklin streets and Eighth and Main streets. The RamsXpress will run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Download the Ride Pingo app to track buses in real time.

Translational Research Informatics Course – Fall 2026
VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Regional Center for Clinical and Translational Research is offering a Translational Research Informatics course (CCTR691) this semester. Open to Master’s and Doctoral students across disciplines, this hands-on course will build the practical skills and vocabulary to manage data, use modern AI and informatics tools and collaborate confidently with technical experts, all without requiring extensive programming experience. Ankle Sprain Research Study (Ages 14–30)
The Research in Athlete and Military Health Sciences (RAMHS) group is seeking participants ages 14-30 years to complete a research study assessing hip muscle function following ankle sprains. You may participate if you either have a first-time lateral ankle sprain or have no ankle sprain history and are healthy (control group). This study will require one in-person study visit at our research laboratory at Biotech Eight (737 N. Fifth St.), an electronic questionnaire about your health and sport participation, ultrasound imaging assessments of your hip at rest (lying down) and during light activity (squatting, treadmill walking) and hip muscle strength assessments. Participants with ankle sprains will also be asked to complete remote, electronic surveys at three and six months after the in-person visit. Questions: Contact Crystal Figueroa at the following URL.

Risk-Taking in Eating Disorders Study
The Research on Excessive, Persistent and Emotion-based Actions and Traits (REPEAT) Lab at VCU is conducting a brain imaging study to understand how decision making differs between adults with anorexia nervosa, obsessive-compulsive disorder and no history of a psychological disorder. Participants Are Invited for Study Examining the Impact of Exercise on Cardiovascular Health
This study is inviting individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 with poor sleep. Compensation is up to $50. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on cardiovascular responses and vascular inflammation. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Lee Franco, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Study on Alcohol Use and Reaction Time
A study at VCU is recruiting participants to investigate the effects of alcohol use and jealousy within friendships. In this in-person experiment, you will bring a close friend from your real life to the laboratory session, complete several behavioral tasks, and surveys. You may be randomly assigned to consume alcohol. The in-person portion of this study will not take longer than two hours to complete. You may earn either SONA credit or $20 USD.
